Scenic Vistas

From many places in their traditional homeland, the nimíipuu (Nez Perce) could see grand vistas of land that had been created for them. Today, the management of natural resources on private lands and within the park directly affects, and has the potential to impact, these cultural landscapes and scenic vistas. Many have come to hold the landscapes and views of park lands as one of the its most valuable assets.

Throughout the 38 sites that make up Nez Perce National Historical Park, visitors can take in scenes of early exploration, fur trade, missionary zeal, mining and agriculture, westward expansion of the nation, Nez Perce/United States conflict, and a continuation of the culture of the Nez Perce country. The National Park Service is committed to preserving the integrity of these sites into the future.
