Location:South side of Independence Avenue , adjacent to Tidal Basin and FDR Memorial
Goals of project:
•Construct a memorial to Martin Luther King Jr.
•Reconstruction of West Basin Drive, with new intersection on Independence Ave.
Impacts/opportunities for visitor to consider:
•Minimal impact to traffic due to construction. Significant impact anticipated upon opening of memorial.
•During construction, pedestrian detour to west side of construction site.
