Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 1.5, the National Park Service is rescinding a temporary closure of Dupont Circle Park on June 7, 2025. The National Park Service at the request of the District of Columbia Government (DC Government) is rescinding the temporary closure of Dupont Circle Park to facilitate activities associated with World Pride. The National Park Service and the District Government entered a Cooperative Management Agreement, on June 7, 2025, whereby the DC Government will manage activity, provide law enforcement and protect the resources of Dupont Circle Park. The DC Government has assumed primary responsibility for the maintenance of public health, safety and protection of natural and cultural resources in Dupont Circle Park, from June 7 until June 9, 2025. Accordingly, the National Park Service determines publication as rulemaking in the Federal Register is unwarranted under 36 C.F.R. § 1.5(b). Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 1.7, notice of this temporary and partial closure and public use limit will be made through media advisories, maps, fencing, and by posting at conspicuous locations in the affected park areas. Finally, pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 1.5(c), this determination is available to the public upon request. /s/ Kevin Griess, Superintendent National Mall and Memorial Parks June 7, 2025 |
