Youth Ambassador Program

Youth Ambassadors interviewing Park Ranger
The Youth Ambassador Program is a dynamic opportunity for local high school students to build meaningful connections with the National Park Service and the rich natural and cultural resources of the National Mall. The goal of the program is to foster a deeper sense of stewardship, conservation, and civic pride, while helping to bridge gaps in representation and engagement with local youth in the park.Youth Ambassadors participate in flexible volunteer shifts, bi-weekly service projects, and professional development sessions. They gain hands-on experience through job shadowing with park rangers, administrative staff, and cultural resource professionals, as well as training in public engagement and visitor services.
