Golden Eagle Aquila chrysaetos

Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos)

Golden Eagles are large birds of prey with enormous wing spans capable of swooping through the air at great speeds. These raptors mainly prey on small mammals, including rabbits, squirrels, and prairie dogs. Their hooked bill and sharp and powerful talons enable them to readily tear apart prey. They are solitary and most often found alone or in pairs. Eagles usually nest on cliffs or high places.
