Figure Studies - Caddie Eastman

(Figure Studies - Caddie Eastman)

William Henry Jackson
ca. 1864

The initials "CE" indicate that the woman struck from these figure studies is Caddie Eastman, Jackson's ex-fiancée. While Jackson married twice after fleeing Vermont, he kept an ambrotype of Eastman until his death in 1942.
