Transcript:

To all whom it may Concern:/
Know ye that William Henry Jackson a Private of Captain Stephen G. Staley Company, (K) 12th Regiment of Vermont Volunteers who was enrolled on the 19th day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty two to serve nine months years or during the war, is hereby Discharged from the service of the United States, this 14th day of July, 1863, at Brattleboro Vermont by reason of expiration of terms of service./
(No objection to his being enlisted is known to exist.)/
Said William H. Jackson was born in Keeseville in the state of New York, is 19 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, light complexion, grey eyes, brown hair, and by occupation, when enrolled an artist./
Given at Brattleboro this 14th day of July 1863./
This sentence will be erased should there be anything in the conduct or physical condition of the soldier rendering him unfit for the Army./
