Chief Ranger Badge

1921 – 1930

Within six months of the issuance of the silver U.S. Park Ranger badge, some argued that chief rangers should have gold badges to distinguish them from other park rangers.  The gold-plated "U.S. Park Ranger" badge was added in 1921.
