Whatnot (Open Shelves)

This 5-shelf whatnot was purchased by a neighbor at the sale held by the Lincolns prior to moving to Washington, DC in 1861.  It appears in a drawing of the Front Parlor published in Frank Leslie’s Illustrated Newspaper holding books, busts, small statues, and vases.
