CONSERVATOR'S DESCRIPTION Treatment: A custom padded mannequin was prepared from a papier-mache form padded with polyester batting and covered with a white polyester knit fabric. Arms were constructed from polyester batting and attached at the shoulder with velcro. A pellon half slip was added to provide support for the skirt of the dress.

To support this outfit on
exhibit, the conservators constructed a special form. The form keeps the
textile from wrinkling and distorting as well as making it look appealing on
exhibit.
