Bust of Clara Barton

Benson studied with Ulysses S. Dunbar.  At the request of Dr. Julian Hubbell, Dunbar made a death mask of Miss Barton after she died in 1912.  After Dunbar’s death, Benson completed the bust with Dunbar sculpting tools.  Barton's death mask is at the National Portrait Gallery, Washington, DC.
