Description: Open work urn shaped splat with carved urn in upper center; two rosettes under arched crest rail; black hair cloth slip seat; square tapered front legs; front H shaped stretchers.

One of a dining room set that belonged to Daniel Hopkins of Hartford, CT, a personal friend of Generals Washington and Lafayette. Hopkins entertained both men at dinner on several occasions.
