FREDERICK: Sheltered in their basement during the Battle of Monocacy, the Thomas family emerged to find their home had sustained significant damage during the heaviest fighting of the battle. Take advantage of this rare opportunity as rangers and volunteers provide access and information about the home and family. See the battle scars that remain, learn about the different phases of construction, and hear the stories of people who once lived there.

The Thomas Farm Open House will take place on August 20-21, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., at 4460 Bakery Valley Road, Frederick, MD 21704. Ranger programs will be given at the Tenant House next to the Thomas house at 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., & 2:00 p.m.
