FREDERICK, MD – While the path of total eclipse stretches from Oregon to South Carolina, a partial solar eclipse can be enjoyed at Monocacy National Battlefield. Please join us at the Visitor Center on August 21st for our solar eclipse event! Take part in ranger talks, citizen science, make your own pinhole viewer, and other eclipse activities. A Limited number of safe solar glasses and pinhole projectors will be available. Please feel free to bring your own NASA approved solar viewers, blanket and/or chair, snacks, and get ready to “OOH” and “AAH.”

The event will be from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Monocacy National Battlefield Visitor Center, located at 5201 Urbana Pike, Frederick, MD, and is free to the public. For more information, please visit the park’s website at www.nps.gov/mono, see us on Facebook, or call the visitor center at 301-662-3515.

Due to the nature of this event, weather can impede our eclipse viewing. If the weather is a concern on the day of the event, please check the park Facebook page or contact us by phone for an update. This is a trash free park, please remember to pack it in and pack it out.
