Scouts at Monocacy National Battlefield

The National Park Service, Girl Scouts of the United States of America, and Boy Scouts of America have partnered to create the Girls Scout Ranger Program and the Scout Ranger Program. The goals of these programs are to encourage scouts to participate in educational and/or volunteer service projects at National Park sites, to spark their awareness of the National Parks, and to provide scouts with the opportunity to explore the National Parks and learn more about protecting our natural and cultural resources.

Earn a Resource Stewardship Badge at Monocacy National Battlefield

Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts can earn a Resource Stewardship Certificate or Badge by completing the following requirements:

To earn a Resource Stewardship Certificate, scouts must participate in organized education activities and/or volunteer service projects for a minimum of five (5) hours.

To earn a Resource Stewardship Badge, scouts must participate in organized educational activities or volunteer service projects for a minimum of ten (10) hours.

Opportunities to earn hours at Monocacy National Battlefield include:

  • Attend a Ranger Lead Tour
  • Volunteer service projects
  • Junior Ranger programs
  • Hike the TRACK Trail at Worthington

All ten (10) hours do not need to be completed at the same National Park site. Start your hours in Monocacy and finish the program at another of your favorite parks!

Keep track of your participation in the program by using the downloadable Activity Log! Bring your completed log to the visitor center (or another NPS participating park) to receive your certificate or badge.
