Overview: Lizards are reptiles and coyotes are mammals. How do we know? Each kind of animal is unique, but they also share traits that allow us to classify and study them. Additionally, desert animals have special adaptations that allow them to thrive in this challenging environment.

Grades Intended: 3rd and 4th

Materials Needed: None; materials are provided

Time Needed: 45 minutes
