Record of Decision

A record of decision, concluding the environmental impact statement (EIS) process for the disposition of the Bureau of Mines property, has been signed by the National Park Service Midwest Regional Director for the Secretary of the Interior. The record of decision confirms the Department of Interior's selected action to retain the property in federal ownership and to redevelop the property as open space/park. The record of decision was also used to officially announce the transfer of management authority to the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area.
