Minidoka's Visitor Center opens for the season on February 22, 2020
The former warehouse #5, which served as an automotive repair shop at the incarceration site during WWII, has been renovated into a state of the art facility to house the Visitor Center for Minidoka National Historic Site.The space includes a ranger information desk, bookstore and retail space, theater, and exhibition space.

Winter/Spring Visitor Center Hours: The National Parks of Southern Idaho are modifying operations to implement the latest guidance from the White House, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), and local and state authorities to promote social distancing. As of March 18, visitor facilities at Craters of the Moon National Monument, Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument and Minidoka National Historic Site, are closed until further notice. The grounds are open seven days a week from sunrise to sunset for self-guided tours on the 1.6 mile walking trail with outdoor exhibits telling the history of the site.

The Visitor Contact Station will be closed all Federal holidays.

(Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July)

Please check back before you visit as schedules may change.

Minidoka National Historic Site is still being developed. Please be prepared. Wear sturdy footwear and bring water. There is little - no shade at the site.
The Historic Site is located on a county road. It may not be well maintained during winter weather. Please check road conditions before venturing there.
