Operating Hours & Seasons

On May 29, 2017, the National Park Service opened a temporary visitor contact station at what was once the Minidoka War Relocation Center, also known locally as Hunt Camp, in Idaho.
The temporary Visitor Contact Station is located at 296 S. 1400 E., Jerome, Idaho 83338. It features interpretive exhibits, the park’s bookstore and provides visitor services onsite.

Winter Hours: September 1 - October 31, 2018; Open Friday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Starting November, the temporary visitor center will be closed for the remainder of the winter season; but the site itself and the 1.6 mile trail is open all-year-round from sunrise to sunset.

Summer Hours: June 1- August 31, 2018; Open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Guided tours will be available on most Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m. with no reservations required for groups sized less than 12 people. Please check the calendar to confirm tours will be offered. Meet at the Herrmann House Visitor Center to begin your tour.

The Visitor Contact Station will be closed all Federal holidays.
(Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July)

Please check back before you visit as schedules may change.
Minidoka National Historic Site is still being developed. Please be prepared. Wear sturdy footwear and bring water. There is little - no shade at the site.
The Historic Site is located on a county road. It may not be well maintained during winter weather. Please check road conditions before venturing there.
