The Little Magician

Example of a Little Magician hat craft

Have you ever seen a magician work? They seem to make the impossible, possible. Martin Van Buren was known for the same.

Two groups of people could be arguing about something, never wanting to agree with one another, but Martin Van Buren was often able to bring them together.

His ability to make the impossible happen, and because he was not a very tall man, earned him the nickname “The Little Magician.”

How do you help when your friends or family members don’t agree?

Make a magician’s hat with Martin Van Buren jumping out of it. You will need:

  • This template
  • Glue and a pen or marker.
  • Glue the two long sides of the hat together.

  • Glue on the brim.

  • Do you have a nickname? Write it on the strip of paper and stick it to the brim of the hat.

  • Tie the ribbon through the hole of the picture like the one above.

  • Slide Martin in the top of the hat and pull him out, just like a magician!
