NPS / Victoria Stauffenberg The memorial grove has flat paths that wind around a grove of white pine and dogwood trees. From the memorial plaza, there are views of the Potomac River and the skyline of Washington, DC. LocationLBJ Memorial Grove is in Lady Bird Johnson Park, formally known as Columbia Island, on the Potomac river. The memorial grove has no street address, but most navigation apps can provide directions.You can reach the memorial grove from the Columbia Island Marina parking area or by using the footbridge from Boundary Channel Drive. The marina parking lot offers the shortest and flattest walk.

Columbia Island Marina has a large parking lot just south of the memorial grove.
Restrooms and Drinking FountainsThere are men's and women's restrooms in the Columbia Island comfort station next to the Columbia Island Marina parking lot.Drinking fountains around the memorial and by the Boundary Channel Drive parking area are not currently working.
NPS / Victoria Stauffenberg In the Memorial GroveAll paths in the memorial grove are paved asphalt or stone.There is a flat, wide quarter-mile loop path with multiple benches on the north end of the memorial grove. The centerpiece of the memorial grove is a memorial plaza where there is a large granite pillar, four of President Johnson's quotes carved into stone, and an informational sign. Audio Description, Braille, and Hands-On ExperiencesThere are no braille features or tactile experiences in the memorial grove. The text from the information panels at the memorial and at the Boundary Channel Drive parking area is available in the NPS App and works with screen readers.Ranger-Led ProgramsPlease contact us if you need accomodations to participate in a ranger-led program.
