Arkansas Peace Week

The Arkansas Coalition for Peace and Justice received a Lower Mississippi Delta Local Heritage Grant in 2022 to interpret and maintain the 7th Street Murals in Little Rock, Arkansas. As part of their project, they also organized multiple educational events as part of the annual Arkansas Peace Week.

The Tennessee Williams & New Orleans Literary Festival’s project, New Orleans and the Blues, brought together blues musicians and music scholars to present a program of music and discussion centered around the Mississippi Delta Blues.

Resetting the Table

The main goal of the "Resetting the Table: The History of Foodways in Vicksburg" project was to create a demonstration/teaching kitchen in the Catfish Row Museum, engage residents and tourists, showcase the connection between food and culture in the Mississippi Delta, promote culinary and cultural heritage tourism, and stimulate economic growth in the region.

Sesser Opera House

The Sesser Opera House in Sesser, IL was once a bustling cultural center that played host to decades worth of entertainment including silent movies and early feature films. The City of Sesser completed renovations so that the theater could once again be used as a working cinema.

Vermilionville Living History Museum began their project, “Telling a Better Story: Indigenous Interpretation,” with a goal to improve the careful and accurate representation of the history and culture of the Native American peoples on whose unceded land their museum now sits.
