The long-term health and quality of the Chesapeake Bay relies on the actions and work of individuals and communities as well as those working in conservation. The 18 million people living within the watershed have an important part to play as stewards of the environment in which they live, learn, play, and work. NPS Chesapeake Gateways is leading the Chesapeake Bay Program in implementing actions to achieve the Stewardship Goal.
