As of February 22, 2010, federal law allows people who can legally possess firearms under applicable federal, state, and local laws, to legally possess firearms on lands owned by the National Park Service in this park. Most lands within the boundaries of Keweenaw National Historical Park are privately owned or owned by other government entities. It is the responsibility of visitors to understand and comply with all applicable state, local, and federal firearms laws before entering this park. Refer to 18 U.S.C. § 930. Federal law also prohibits firearms in certain facilities in this park; those places are marked with signs at all public entrances. These facilities include: Calumet Visitor Center (Union Building), Park Headquarters, the Keweenaw History Center (former C&H Public Library), and C&H Warehouse #1, all in Calumet.
