Fort Wilkins Historic State Park

This lesson is all about frontier life at Fort Wilkins. In 1844, soldiers were sent to build a fort in Copper Harbor, MI. Life on the frontier had many challenges. Today, Fort Wilkins Historic State Park has many restored buildings. They also help people understand what life was like on the frontier in Michigan’s Copper Country.
