James A. Garfield National Historic Site in Mentor is pleased to announce a special holiday-themed program at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 10. “A Winter Evening at Lawnfield with Mrs. Lucretia Garfield” will be held in the site’s visitor center auditorium. Former First Lady Lucretia Rudolph Garfield (portrayed by Debbie Weinkamer) will be on hand for an intimate evening of reminiscing about the Garfield family’s most cherished winter and holiday memories and traditions. These memories will be from both before and after President James A. Garfield’s death. He was assassinated in 1881 after just a few months as the twentieth President of the United States.

The event will include live music, light refreshments, and a beautiful evening tour of the Garfield home. This event is supported and assisted by The James A. Garfield Alliance, the non-profit partner of James A. Garfield National Historic Site.
