Books at James A. Garfield National Historic Site

These articles are part of an ongoing series of “deep dives” into some of the over 5,000 books that are on exhibit at James A Garfield National Historic Site. In this series, we will explore the contents of the books themselves, as well as some of the connections between James A. Garfield and the authors. We hope to help give context to the many volumes which can be found in Garfield’s library. We are using https://archive.org/ and https://www.hathitrust.org/ to review digitized copies of the books at the site.
