Join a ranger at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore’s Heron Rookery on Saturday, April 15, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm for a two-hour wildflower hike to see what woodland flowers are blooming. The Heron Rookery is perhaps the best location in the national lakeshore to see spring wildflowers. Please consider coming early for our stewardship program, which runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. We will be removing invasive plant species, which threaten to destroy the great native biodiversity of the region.

The hike starts from the Heron’s Rookery’s east parking lot, which is located at 1336 North County Road 600E in Michigan City. The GPS coordinates are 41.626948, -86.951566 (decimal degrees). For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, call 219-395-1882 or visit our website at www.nps.gov/indu and our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/IndianaDunesNL.
