INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore Superintendent Costa Dillon will hold four open forums this summer to answer questions and listen to public comments about the national park. This will be the fourth year Mr. Dillon has hosted these informal meetings with the public.

The first forum is on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center located at 1215 N. State Road 49 in Porter, Indiana.

The three other public forums this summer will take place at various locations within the national lakeshore. Saturday, June 9 from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at the Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk Site, Saturday July 21 from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at the Park Headquarters Meeting Room (1100 N. Mineral Springs Road, Porter), and Saturday, August 25, from 10:00 a.m.- noon at the Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education (Lake Street, Gary).

Superintendent Dillon welcomes these opportunities and looks forward to hearing from the public. "One of the great things about national parks is that we are places for the public to use and enjoy," said Dillon, "we want to hear suggestions, ideas, and even complaints that will make the park a better place."

No reservations are required to attend a forum. For more information, or directions to any of the forum sites, contact the national lakeshore's information desk at 219-395-1882 or check the park's website at www.nps.gov/indu.
