INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: Celebrate National Park Week by joining a park ranger and SCA Centennial Volunteer Ambassador Jessica West to learn how to combat the spread of invasive species in Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. On Wednesday, April 19th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., come learn how to identify common invasive plants, test your knowledge of Indiana's native plants, and take a short hike through Miller Woods to learn how to report invasive species using a free smartphone app.

Kids will also have the chance to design and create their own invasive species button, and receive an invasive species souvenir from the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. Be sure to dress for the weather, including rain or shine.

The Douglas Center is located at 100 North Lake Street in the Miller section of Gary, Indiana. For more information on this program and others, contact Brigitte Moneymaker at 434-962-3525 or by email at:  e-mail us
