Polish your listening skills during the May 24th Douglas Center for Environmental Education open house program. Helpful tips will be shared by members of the Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology as you learn to slow down your thoughts and become attuned to nature’s ways. As always, during our 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday open house, families can make a free craft, enjoy the hands-on exhibits or help feed the Douglas Center’s resident amphibians, reptiles and fish.

The Douglas Center is located at 100 North Lake Street in the Miller section of Gary. For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, contact the Douglas Center at 219-395-1821 or check the park website at www.nps.gov/indu/planyourvisit.
