Films Sought for National Lakeshore Film Festival

INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: The National Park Service is inviting local filmmakers to submit short subject films for the Indiana Dunes Film Festival. The festival will take place on November 4 – 6, 2016 and is the culmination of a year-long celebration of the national lakeshore’s 50th anniversary.

Films can be submitted in two categories. The first, tilted “Happy Birthday Indiana Dunes,” is for films up to two minutes in length that celebrate the national lakeshore’s anniversary. The second category is tilted, “The Calumet Region,” and is for films up to 10 minutes in length that touch on the formation, existence and future of Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore as it relates to the larger Calumet Region.

To enter, just upload your film to YouTube or Vimeo and send an e-mail toindianadunesfilmfestival@gmail.com with where you uploaded it along with the title, category, and a short description of the film. Entries are due by midnight October 30, 2016. The judges will pick up your submission from the directions you leave.Selection criteria are listed on the Festival's web page.

 The selected films will be showcased during the film festival on November 4 - 6 at several locations throughout the region. In addition, some of the films will be shown during the Eyes on the Arts program on Lakeshore Public Media later this year.
