Kids of all ages are invited to celebrate and play in the outdoors at the Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore on Saturday, July 7 and July 21, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The program includes building forts, hiking in Miller Woods, doing a free craft activity, and feeding the Center’s  resident fish, turtles, snakes, toads, and frogs.

Rangers lead the free program and there is no need to pre-register. "Playdate in the Nature Play Zone" is presented the first and third Saturday of the month through November. A parent or guardian must be present during the program.

The Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education is located in the western portion of the national lakeshore at 100 North Lake Street, about one mile north of U.S. Highway 12 in the Miller neighborhood of Gary.
