Spend the weekend of October 4th-6th outdoors at the Indiana Dunes Outdoor Adventure Festival. This event takes place throughout the entire Indiana Dunes region and is packed with more than 70 outdoor adventures. With support from the Friends of Indian Dunes, Indiana Dunes State Park, Indiana Dunes Tourism, and more than a dozen other partners, Indiana Dunes National Park will host this three-day event.
Centered at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center on Indiana State Road 49, the festival will showcase the region’s outdoor activities such as hiking, paddling, biking, geo-caching, photography, birding, yoga, and so many others. The festival has events for everyone including families, beginners, experts, and those with limited mobility.
The festival will take place across the region with activities in Porter, La Porte, and Lake Counties. Highlights of the weekend include paddling trips on the Little Calumet River, Lake Michigan, and Lake George in Hobart; dozens of hikes led by experts across the entire region; and access to natural areas not normally open to the public.
Registration for the festival is required using the website https://www.
The Indiana Dunes Visitor Center is located at 1215 North State Road 49, about one mile north of Interstate 94. For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Park, call 219-395-1882 or visit our website at www.nps.gov/indu and our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/
