The National Park Service has released the Environmental Assessment for the “East Branch Little Calumet River Use Management Plan” for Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, and is seeking public comment. This document is a collaborative effort of the National Park Service, the United States Forest Service, and the Urban Waters Initiative to explore and evaluate a full range of recreational opportunities and the environmental impacts of those activities on those portions of the East Branch of the Little Calumet River which lie within Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. The 30-day comment period will begin on Friday, July 8. The Environmental Assessment will be available for review in two different formats.
