INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: The National Park Service is preparing a draft Environmental Assessment for the Wabash Avenue Visitor Use and Traffic Improvement Plan for Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and is seeking public input. Each unit of the National Park Service is driven by federal enabling legislation, and the preparation of this plan is required to ensure that the development of the Wabash Avenue Visitor Use Area meets the National Park Service regulations and Federal laws. The public is invited to attend an open house to learn more about the plan and give input. Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is part of the National Park Service. More than 20,000 National Park Service employees care for America's 397 national parks and work with communities across the nation to help preserve local history and create close-to-home recreational opportunities.
