INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL PARK: Enjoy music from national and local artists during a small-scale concert at the historic Chellberg Farm in Indiana Dunes National Park on September 5th from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. You must bring your own folding chairs or blankets for seating on the farmhouse’s lawn and social distancing will be required. The event is free.
The night starts off with “Songs and Stories of our National Parks,” a collaboration between award-winning storyteller and National Park Ranger Gary Bremen and Florida's Historian-in-Song Grant Livingston. Together, they travel the country to tell and sing about our National Parks. Celebrate over a century of history guided by Gary's tales of Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Gettysburg, Mammoth Cave, Selma, Stonewall, Biscayne and Indiana Dunes. Grant accompanies Gary's narrative with folk songs of the times and his own original songs.
Next, the popular local group, Save the Tunes, takes the porch stage to share their take on traditional American folk songs. The Save the Tunes Council performs regularly at Indiana Dunes and is devoted to preserving and passing on folk songs in the traditional way, using a variety of traditional musical instruments including guitar, autoharp, dulcimer, banjo, harmonica, bagpipe, penny whistle, hurdy gurdy, and other obscure instruments.
A National Park Ranger for thirty-five years, Gary Bremen is a writer, speaker and storyteller whose work has appeared in national magazines, on television, radio and podcasts. As a boy growing up in South Florida, his parents instilled in him an insatiable wanderlust fueled by an equally insatiable curiosity, and he still finds enormous satisfaction in discovering the little things in the world around him. Singer-Songwriter Grant Livingston has been a Florida favorite since the mid-eighties. In his songs you may meet armadillos, pythons and barnacles, pioneers and invasive plants, or get a sailing lesson in three easy verses!

Indiana Dunes National Park is one of 423 units of the National Park System ranging from Yellowstone to the Statue of Liberty. Located in Northwest Indiana, the park includes 15 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline and 15,000 acres of biodiverse beaches, woods, prairies, and marshes. Up to 3 million visitors come to the Indiana Dunes each year.
