Date: June 26, 2017
Join a ranger at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore every Sunday in July from 10:00 am to 11:30 am for a hike to the top of famous Mount Baldy. Even though the area is closed for general public use, this ranger-led tour allows visitors to experience the beauty and spectacular views from the tallest dune in the national lakeshore.
The hikes start at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center, which is located at 1215 North State Road 49 in Porter, about one mile north of Interstate 94. After a brief introduction, participants will drive their own cars to Mount Baldy for a ranger-led hike to top of the dune. These hikes will be offered on Sunday mornings through September 3, 2017.
The tours are free, but reservations are required and space is limited. Call 219-395-1882 to make reservations and to find out more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
