Date: April 16, 2018

Join a ranger at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore on Sunday, April 29, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, for a hike to the top of famous Mount Baldy. Even though the dune is closed for general public use, these ranger-led tours allow visitors to experience the beauty and spectacular views from the tallest dune in the national lakeshore.

The Mount Baldy parking lot and beach are now open everyday from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, after being closed for several years. The dune itself, however, is still closed to public access without a ranger for public safety and for restoration efforts. We strongly ask the public to respect and follow posted closure signs and stay out of roped-off areas.

Please meet at the Mount Baldy parking lot, located just off of U.S. Highway 12, just west of Michigan City, Indiana. No reservations are required. For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, call 219-395-1882 or visit our website and our Facebook page.
