The Science of Mt. Baldy Program Offered at National Park

INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL PARK: Get a first-hand look at some of the scientific research happening at Indiana Dunes National Park on Saturday, May 25, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center. Join park ranger Kelly Caddell to learn about the work scientists are doing on our most famous dune, Mount Baldy. Following a short presentation at the visitor center, carpool to Baldy for a ranger-guided hike to the top of the dune.

Scientific research helps park managers make informed decisions when caring for our parks. We will explore our own ideas about science and learn about scientific investigations going on within our the Great Lakes’ national parks.
