Junior Wildland Firefighter Program at Indiana Dunes Campground

Meet the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore’s fire crew and learn about their jobs and equipment at several national lakeshore locations this summer. In July, you can meet Smokey Bear and his helpers on Saturday, July 15, 11:00 am at the national lakeshore’s Dunewood Campground Amphitheater.
 
Upon completion of this 30 minute, hands-on program, children will receive their very own Junior Wildland Firefighter activity book and a Junior Wildland Firefighter patch.
 
The Dunewood Campground is located at 645 Broadway Avenue in Beverly Shores, Indiana. The campground is just south of the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and Broadway Avenue.
