INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL PARK: To protect public health and slow the spread of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus, all facilities and buildings, including restrooms, are closed until further notice at Indiana Dunes National Park. In addition, all public and school programs at the park are cancelled. Outdoor spaces, including park’s trails, beaches and parking lots, remain open to the public. During this difficult time, the National Park Service asks the public to help take care of the national park by keeping it clean and reporting violations to 1-800-Park-Tip.

While outdoor spaces, like park trails, are believed to be safer than indoor spaces, visitors are urged to take the precautions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  For tips from the CDC on preventing illnesses like the coronavirus, go to: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/prevention.html

The National Park Service is actively monitoring developments related to the COVID-19 novel coronavirus and is consulting with relevant federal, state and local authorities, including the CDC, to get the most up to date information needed to protect the health of our visitors, volunteers and employees. Updates on closures will be posted to the park website and social media channels.
