Housing Needed for National Park’s Summer Employees

The National Park Service is in need of short-term housing near Indiana Dunes National Park for the summer’s seasonal workforce of park rangers, guides, maintenance workers, and research aids.

Summer employees often have difficulty in finding suitable short-term housing. Most of the employees are college students or people just starting their careers and have limited budgets. Many apartments will not lease or rent for less than six months or a year and the park's summer employees typically work less than that starting in May. Most employees will be looking for temporary, (two to six months), housing, preferably furnished apartments or rooms with cooking privileges.

This request for short-term rentals is not a lease nor a formal agreement with the National Park Service. This is strictly for the purpose of providing a list of potential rental units for our park’s summer employees. Rental agreements will be between the employee and the landlord and not the National Park Service.

Persons interested in receiving referrals for summer renters from Indiana Dunes National Park should contact Housing Manager, Todd Fletcher at 219-395-1751 or email us.
