The National Park Service is in need of short-term housing near Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore for the summer’s seasonal workforce of park rangers, guides, maintenance workers, and research aids. Summer employees often have difficulty in finding suitable short-term housing. Most of the employees are college students or people just starting their careers and have limited budgets. Many apartments will not lease or rent for less than six months or a year and the park's summer employees typically work less than that starting in May. Most employees will be looking for temporary, (two to six months), housing, preferably furnished apartments or rooms with cooking privileges. Persons interested in receiving referrals for summer renters from Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore should contact Administrative Program Assistant Bill Martin, at 219-395-1751. Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is part of the National Park Service. More than 20,000 National Park Service employees care for America’s 406 national parks and work with communities across the nation to help preserve local history and create close-to-home recreational opportunities.
