Enjoy some old-fashioned Halloween fun on Saturday October 29 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore’s Chellberg Farm. Join some very spooky volunteers at the historic Chellberg Farm as they prepare for Halloween. Watch as cooks use a wood stove to prepare holiday treats and decorate the farmhouse the old-fashioned way. Learn the legend of the “jack-o-lantern” while carving your own pumpkin. There will be a limited number of free pumpkins available at the farm for kids to carve, but assistance from a parent or guardian is required. Then, listen to ghost stories, play historic games, color paper jack-o-lanterns, and join in singing holiday songs. Historic Halloween Fun is presented in partnership with the Friends of Indiana Dunes. The Chellberg Farm is located in Porter, Indiana on Mineral Springs Road between U.S. Highways 12 and 20.
