Hike with your Hound at the National Park

INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL PARK: Bring your dog for a ranger-led hike through the spectacular Miller Woods. This hike is offered every Friday in October from 10:00 am-12:00 noon. All dogs must be on a leash in the national park. Be sure your dog is capable of doing this two-mile hike over a moderately difficult trail with some sandy and uneven surfaces. Much of the trail is in sun adding to the difficulty on a hot day. Also, please bring water for your hound and bags for its waste.   

After the hike, your dog qualifies for a B.A.R.K Ranger dog tag. This program promotes the responsible use of the park by pet owners by ensuring they bag their pet’s waste, always use a leash, respect wildlife and know where pets are permitted. The dog tags are furnished free of charge courtesy of the Friends of Indiana Dunes.
