NDIANA DUNES NATIONAL PARK:  The Glenwood Dunes Trail system at Indiana Dunes National Park, which was closed due to flooding on June 21, has been partially reopened. Approximately, 2.6 miles of the 6.4-mile long trail, is open to both hikers and equestrian users.

Park staff will continue to monitor the trail conditions and will reopen the remainder of the trail when it is possible to do so while also protecting public safety and park resources.

During this partial closure of the Glenwood Dunes Trail system, visitors still have access to more than 42 miles of other trails at Indiana Dunes National Park. These trails include the Dune Ridge, Paul Douglas Trail in Miller Woods, West Beach, Portage Lakefront, Baily/Chellberg, Little Calumet River Heron Rookery, and the Pinhook Bog Upland Trail. For more information on trails and hiking opportunities at Indiana Dunes National Park, contact the park’s information desk at 219-395-1882 or go to the web page at www.nps.gov/indu.
