The National Park Service is seeking food trucks or other self-contained food service vendors for several special events this year in celebration of Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore’s 50th anniversary and the National Park Service Centennial. Events needing vendors include the Miller Woods BioBlitz on May 20 and 21, 2016, an Anniversary Concert at West Beach on August 27, 2016, the Apples, Apples, Apples Festival at Chellberg Farm on September 17 & 18, 2016, and the Dunes Blowout at West Beach on September 24 & 25, 2016. These four events are each expected to draw between 600 – 1,500 visitors per day.

Federal regulations require any individuals or groups selling food or other items in a national park to obtain a Commercial Use Authorization permit. Completed applications for a permit include a payment of $65 to cover the costs of processing the request. Additionally, vendors selling food must comply with county and Federal health regulations. Vendors may apply to operate at one event or all four anniversary events under the same Commercial Use Authorization.

All inquiries are welcome. Please call or email Amber Siewin, 219-395-1859, e-mail us to find out more about selling food at one or more of these events and to get an application.
