The National Park Service is seeking food trucks or other self-contained food service vendors for several special events this year in celebration of Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore’s 50th anniversary and the National Park Service Centennial. Events needing vendors include an Anniversary Concert at West Beach on August 27, 2016, the Apples, Apples, Apples Festival at Chellberg Farm on September 17 & 18, 2016, and the Dunes Blowout at West Beach on September 24 & 25, 2016. These three events are each expected to draw between 500 – 1,000 visitors per day.

Federal regulations require any individuals or groups selling food or other items in a national park to obtain a Commercial Use Authorization permit. Completed applications for a permit include a payment of $65 to cover the costs of processing the request. Additionally, vendors selling food must comply with county and Federal health regulations. Vendors may apply to operate at one event or all four anniversary events under the same Commercial Use Authorization.

All inquiries are welcome. Please call or email Amber Siewin, 219-395-1859, e-mail us to find out more about the event and get an application.Applications must be received no later than August 15, 2016. Selected applicants will be notified and will then be required to complete a Commercial Use Authorization that includes an application fee as well as proof of insurance and a possible performance bond.
