Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15th to October 15th at Indiana Dunes National Park’s Paul H. Douglas Center. On weekends at the center, visitors can make colorful crafts that celebrate Hispanic heritage in the United States and read about the Hispanic heritage of some of our national park employees. The Douglas Center is open from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Hispanic Heritage Month traditionally honors the cultures and contributions of both Hispanic and Latinx Americans as we celebrate heritage rooted in all Latin American countries. During this month and throughout the year, the National Park Service, and our partners, share the heritage and accomplishments of Hispanic and Latino Americans who have contributed so much to the history, culture and achievements of the United States.

Meet at the Paul Douglas Center for Environmental Education is at 100 North Lake Street, about one mile north of U.S. Highway 12 in the Miller neighborhood of Gary. For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Park, call 219-395-1882 or visit our website at www.nps.gov/indu.
