The sixth annual Indiana Dunes Birding Festival will officially unveil its 2020 festival fine art poster at a special Birds and Brews event held at the Pub in Gelsosomo’s Pizzeria in Chesterton on February 29, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
The Birds and Brews event is a chance for bird enthusiasts to socialize, win prizes for bird related trivia, and learn more about the upcoming birding festival. 2020 artist, Kristina Knowski, will be on hand to discuss the design process and the inspiration behind this year's festival poster. Limited edition prints will go on sale at the event as well.
The Indiana Dunes Birding Festival helps to celebrate the migration of birdlife through the Indiana Dunes region and is being held May 14-17. The festival is a partnership with the region's major environmental groups highlighting the dunes area's rich biodiversity and bird watching opportunities to create a positive impact on the economic, conservation, and environmental education for visitors and residents to the Indiana Dunes region.
Reservations are $11.50 for adults and can be found at indianaaudubon.org/events and includes a pizza and salad buffet. Gelsosomo’s Pizzeria is located at 371 Indian Boundary Road in Chesterton, Indiana.
Indiana Dunes National Park is one of 419 units of the National Park System ranging from Yellowstone to the Statue of Liberty. Located in Northwest Indiana, the park includes 15 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline and 15,000 acres of biodiverse beaches, woods, prairies, and marshes. Up to 3 million visitors come to the Indiana Dunes each year.
